Home Improvement Permits

One of the most frequent questions I receive is whether or not I have approved a project that someone is doing to their home.  With our emphasis on the aesthetics of our community, it is a fair question.  In order to help the community know what has been approved and what has not been approved, starting today, I will be issuing these Home Improvement Permits to anyone who request permission to do improvements to their home.  These bright green permits will be affixed to the front window of the home so that it can be seen from the street.

If you have any ideas on how to make a community better, I would like to hear them.  Please email me kstevens@blairflorida.com.

Thank you,

Questions about Home Improvement Permits

Since I sent out the email about our new Home Improvement Permit Policy, I have received numerous questions about what the lease and Rules and Regulations state what has to be approved by management and what does not.
The rules state that ANY improvement on or to the exterior of the home, including landscaping, must be approved by management.
So if you need to replace the flowers and mulch in your already approved flowerbed, NO Permit.
If you want to build a flowerbed with flowers and mulch, YES a permit is required.

If you need a new roof or want to paint the outside of your home, those would need a Permit.

I hope this has helped clear up any questions.

As always you can consult your lease and Rules and Regulations for guidance or feel free to contact me with any questions.
